According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Spurs’ superstar DeMar DeRozan has been fined $25,000 by the NBA for throwing a ball in the direction of a referee during the Spurs’ 117-103 loss versus the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night.
The incident, for which DeRozan was fined, occurred with 5:01 remaining on the clock in the fourth quarter. DeRozan was originally assessed a technical foul, but was ultimately thrown out. Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Kiki VanDeWeghe also announced that the league was not only concerned about the ball hitting official Scott Foster, but the ball also flying recklessly out into the spectator stands.
