The Hardwood Tribune is an independent blog written, edited, and published by Blake Beams. The project aims to offer high-quality written content surrounding all levels of basketball, with a heavy concentration on the amateur level in Southern Indiana.
The project was founded as a way to cover the sport in an area where it is parallel to religion on all levels. Pieces and content are aimed to be published weekly on the site focusing on news, reports, and opinions on all things basketball on all levels. Other happenings will of course be included (I like to talk a lot more than hoops after all.)

About the Author
Hi, I'm Blake, and I love basketball.
I'm starting this project because I feel like it's finally time to back up my "I love to write" narrative once and for all. Honestly, that is the truth. I got majorly into it when I received a pre-owned copy of Showtime by Jeff Pearlman from a local Ollie's Flea Market when I was just 8 years old. The sport and the practice of writing has stuck with me ever since, and its finally time to put both to use (lord knows the former isn't my strongest suit).
I attended Jeffersonville High School where I was a play-by-play broadcaster for the school's football and basketball teams. I worked for the ESPN family of networks and a few other local affiliates during my time in high school, and entered the professional scene as a freelance broadcaster right after graduation, which I still do often.
Now, I'm a 19-year-old student at the University of Louisville, where I study finance. I work part-time to cover my costs of school and am closely glued to whatever sport is in season or a rerun of Malcolm of the Middle that the Netflix shuffle button gave me. Part-time and below-average pickup basketball player as well, just so you know where the credibility is coming from.
