Breaking: Devin Booker done for the season

According to Shams Charania of the Athletic, the Phoenix Suns are shutting star guard Devin Booker down for the season. After suffering an ankle sprain late in the season, the Suns decided it was better to sit Booker during the final 3 games of the schedule rather than run the risk of having him re-injure the ankle. Booker had been on an incredible scoring run up until the team decided to shut him down. The young star had scored 59, 50, and 48 points in three of the last five games the Suns played.

The Phoenix Suns and Devin Booker discuss maximum contract extension

The Phoenix Suns and their star guard Devin Booker have began discussing a possible maximum contract extension reportedly worth around $158 million.

The Phoenix Suns reportedly began conversations with their franchise centerpiece Devin Booker about a possible maximum contract extension today. This extension would keep him in Phoenix for another five years. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, we may see him ink the deal as soon as the upcoming weekend.

Last year, Booker averaged 24.9 points and 4.7 assists while shooting 42% from the field. Booker has been an essential piece in the long-term plan to rebuild the Suns and with the announcement of the two parties talking about a long-term contract, it looks like he will continue to take on that role.
