According to Shams Charania of the Athletic, Warriors’ superstar Kevin Durant has undergone surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles. Durant suffered the injury early on during the Warriors’ 106-105 victory against the Raptors in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. While it is unclear as to how long the recovery period will be for Durant, the 30-year-old remained positive on Wednesday, announcing on an Instagram post that “it’s going to be a journey, but I’m built for this.”

According to several new reports, Warriors’ superstar Kevin Durant could potentially return sometime during the Western Conference Finals. One report also noted that the Warriors would evaluate Durant’s situation in about a week.

The superstar suffered a mild calf strain during Golden State’s 104-99 win over the Rockets on Wednesday. According to Dr. Alan Beyer, an orthopedic surgeon and executive medical director at the world-famous Hoag Orthopedic Institute, Durant could return somewhere between Games 5 and 6 in the Western Conference Finals, should the Warriors advance to it. Beyer also noted that it might be possible for Durant to return during Game 4 of the WCF, but cautioned heavily against it.
